ON is an urban intervention that aims at creating
a stable framework for current spontaneous appropriations that occur in the
area at certain times of the day and week. Its goal is to sustain and improve
an urban experience by providing basic urban furniture, lighting and other
amenities. The project is structured around three concepts, which speak also of
timeframes and phases:
THE PERMANENT. Urban furniture and lighting to
adapt and transform a road divider 1.20m wide through a continuous table and
seating around which people can gather.
THE EPHEMERAL. The lighting up of an adjacent
water tank and building of BOOM-ON, a mobile device that can be set in motion
by anyone who ventures out to do it
THE EVENT. An invitation extended to everyone in
Caracas to meet, share and celebrate the next anniversary of the city in this
renewed urban space.
