Being the public space one of the main common demands of citizens, the Common Space Workshop aims to address the production of opportunities for exchange, encounter and permanence from observing particular phenomena of the Franklin Neighborhood and taking them as a basis to propose actions in the short term and at low cost that function as triggers for a process of transformation and revitalization of the neighborhood.
After eight days of intense work in Santiago, architecture students from 12 universities throughout Chile developed and built prototypes of urban activation to facilitate dynamics in various sectors of the neighborhood in the Chilean capital, on the occasion of the XXI Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism of Chile. After a tour of the different projects located in the streets and spaces of the neighborhood, a jury chose the best proposals that emerged from the workshop.
